Rubik's Cube

Nine freely chosen colours. A photograph that was already waiting for them.

Rubik's Cube on a table, with the nine colours of the chosen face and two other faces visible

This is how the spectator experiences it.

Before you start, you send an email to the spectator and ask them to wait before opening it.

You hand them a 3×3 Rubik's Cube to scramble as they like. When they finish, they choose a face and the orientation in which they want to show it.

The spectator opens the email they received at the beginning. Inside they find a photograph of the cube on a table: the nine colours of the front face match their choice, square by square and in the same order.

This is how it reaches the inbox.

Another idea for your next performance.
